Stop Killing Rhinos
The Killing of a Rhino Is the Killing of Perspective! Somewhere in the wild, a rhino falls. Not because it’s sick. Not because it’s old. Not because nature decided its time was up. But because someone believed a myth.

A horn made of keratin — the same substance as your fingernails — is carved off and smuggled across borders. It will be ground into powder, displayed as a status symbol, or sold under the illusion that it heals, empowers, elevates. It does none of those things. It never has.

A rhino can weigh over two tons. It shapes ecosystems simply by walking through them. Its grazing patterns influence plant growth. Its presence supports entire food webs. It has roamed Earth for millions of years, surviving ice ages, predators, and shifting continents. And yet it struggles to survive us.
This is not just poaching. It is ignorance weaponized.
-The belief that a horn carries magic.
-The assumption that extinction is someone else’s problem.
-The quiet shrug that says, “There will always be more.”
BUT there won’t.
Species like the Javan rhinoceros now number only a few dozen in the wild. The Black rhinoceros was pushed to the brink in a single generation. Each animal lost is not just a statistic; it is genetic history erased, ecological balance disrupted, and proof that misinformation can be deadly. And when ignorance drives demand, supply answers with a gun.
The senseless killing of a rhino is not about poverty alone. It is not about tradition alone. It is about the persistent refusal to question what we believe. It is about the comfort of myth over the discipline of evidence.
A horn has no healing power.
But knowledge does.
And so does choice.
Extinction is irreversible. Ignorance is not.
The question is whether we will correct one before it causes the other.
